I had a hidden interest on Analytics, while I came across the topic during my MBA days. At that point of time I was looking for the place, where I could pursue the data analytics professional course. Aegis was that place where I found my interests on Analytics. I’m sharing my experiences: Pros: 1. Aegis is that institute, where anyone can move his or her career into Analytics domain from the scratch. 2. After accomplishment of the course, while I got the job, I realized that Aegis was my foundation stone for Data Analytics territory at beginner’s level. On the contrary you have to groom yourself up to Advanced level with your own effort. 3. As far as the placement scenario is concerned, Aegis management will take care of it. Your responsibilities would be preparing yourself & follow their guidance. 4. One of the best parts of Aegis is the Data Science Congress. If you’re someone contemplating whether you should learn Data science, knowing that you come from a non-tech background, ask yourself and others if you should make that career switch. Well then you and me, both are standing at the same crossroad. Back in 2021 , after working for 5 years I decided I needed a change and took a leap of faith into the unknown and got myself enrolled in the Post Graduate Program provided by Aegis School of Data Science, Mumbai. There were a lot of options to choose from with different colleges claiming to provide the best courses but after doing my own research, understanding the curriculum provided by Aegis, getting to know about their CMC Placement team, and consulting with my friend who was an alumni, I believed that this course would be the best fit. My journey as an aspiring data analyst/scientist got off to a really slow start, as grasping Python and SQL concepts initially was a tough ask, as I had no prior coding experience. I’m really grateful to the faculty members, Mrs. Nida Parkar (Python, Advanced Python & NLP) and Mrs. Ankita Pai (SQL, Tableau & PowerBI) for being considerate enough and helping me learn these programming languages. Mr. Syed Aamer Hashmi made Machine Learning algorithms and Deep Learning concepts so much easier to understand and interpret. A special mention to Dr. Vinay Kulkarni (Statistics, Time Series Analysis, Spark & Hadoop) whose lectures really made you think and helped us apply statistical thinking in day-to-day activities and taught us how to improve our decision-making process. My favorite teacher was Mr. Bhupesh Daheria (Use Cases of Data Science) whose lectures we all loved attending. We could sit for 3 hours at a stretch. It was a session filled with so much practical knowledge, so many new perspectives, and endless possibilities with what could be done with Data Science. Here, we were taught to be ‘Problem Solvers’ not just Data Analysts/scientists. A BIG shoutout to the CMC placement team, especially Mrs. Taranjit Kaur Oberai and Ms. Tanvi Gupta for being there for us students throughout the campus placements ensuring that we get plenty of exposure to Top companies, believing in and motivating us to do our best in the interviews. Her efforts right from interview preparations to getting us placed were commendable and I’m really grateful for that. There are a lot of cool people you’d meet at Aegis, Mr. Gyavin Picardo and Ms. Misba Rizvi to name a few. I had a great time during these 11 months, the knowledge gained, the projects built and the friendships made. I’ll always cherish these memories. There’s a lot more I could tell you about but I can’t fit it all in this testimonial. Maybe it's something for you to go and experience yourself. Aegis School of Data Science has a very strong network of Alumni who are doing really well in major companies across the globe and are giving back to their college and community. I hope that someday I’m able to do the same and make my college proud. Currently, I’m working at Morningstar India Pvt.
